How to Use Cheats in GTA 6
Knowing a code isn't enough; you need to enter it in the right place, the right way. GTA 6's method will be confirmed at launch; the series' three methods and the most common mistakes are below.
GTA 6 status
GTA 5 offered three ways to activate cheats: a controller button sequence, typing into the console opened with ~ on PC, and dialing a 1-999 number on the in-game phone. GTA 6's method hasn't been announced.
What to expect in GTA 6
GTA 6 is expected to keep at least one classic method, most likely button sequences and the phone. Cheats will again be story-mode only.
Tips
- Make a separate save first; trophies and achievements are disabled for that session.
- Press buttons quickly with no extra presses in between.
- Entering the same code again turns most cheats off.
- Some cheats are disabled during missions; try in free roam.
